2022 RODS Champion

Mike Keenan

Mike has been racing for over 20 years.  Starting out as a street racer he progressed into small tire radial racing. Including winning the 10.5 class at the Street Car Super Nationals in Las Vegas in 2018.

His 500 Cu Inch Twin Turbo entry is powered by a Proline Hemi with twin 94 MM turbos.  This Corvette has some history, it is the former JEGS car driven my Troy Caughlin in NHRA promod a few years ago.

2022 was Mike's first full attempt at running RODS.  He would enter a race here and there, but never committed to the series.  Winning 2 of the 3 races he attended, he is always a contender.

About RODS

The Real Outlaw Door Slammers started in 2009 as a local Pro Mod association for racers in the Southwest.  Primarily running at Albuquerque Dragway, most teams are from New Mexico and West Texas.  Running 4 to 5 races each year, a champion is crowned at the end of each season.

Entries are limited to left hand steer cars with working doors, aka Door Slammers.  Each engine combination is allowed with any power adder.  Many teams run Nitous Oxcide, Blowers/Super Chargers, or Turbos.

The cars compete in the 1/8 mile and the quickest 8 cars qualify for each race.  A standard 8 car pro ladder is used for eliminations.

In 2023 RODS has now been renamed as the Real Outlaw Drag Series.  Now allowing all front engine vehicles that will include Funny Cars and Altereds as well as Door Cars.
